Putin is a street thug & no wise person risks showing weakness to street thugs. Civilized dialogue is for evolved individuals & Putin is caught in a time warp dating back to the age of neanderthals. The visa denial likely saved Congressman Smith’s life. Had he entered Russia the chance is high he’d have been arrested on false charges as an enemy of the Russian Federation & be one more person of concern to the US locked in a Russian penal colony to be murdered.
