Two of the many reasons money is laundered through Cypriot banks is b/c it’s under the the secure umbrella of the EU currency & deposit insurance. Of great importance is the deposits are held in euros, not rubles. Since the Cypriot attorney general seems more interested in shielding organized criminal activity than fulfilling the requirements of EU membership it appears he’d prefer the EU community extradite Cyprus from the EU.The EU is a club & all clubs kick out members that don’t obey the clubhouse rules.Cyprusshould go on the ruble standard since it finds blood money so attractive.
