Calls grow for Russia to act on lawyer’s death
The Express on Sunday
International pressure is mounting on Russia to bring to justice those responsible for the death in custody of anti-corruption lawyer Sergei Magnitsky, who was arrested while investigating a $230million fraud.
Magnitsky, 37, was working for financier Bill Browder, who heads up UK-based Hermitage Capital.
Last week, Browder travelled to Berlin to seek support from the German government to gain justice for the lawyer. He already has the backing of Britain, America and Poland.
Magnitsky died in prison last November after being held without trial for more than a year on fabricated tax evasion charges. Despite an investigation, no one has been charged in connection with his death.
Mr Browder claims that Hermitage had become the target of a conspiracy in which police and government officials claimed ownership of Hermitage companies in Russia to syphon off $230million in tax rebates. онлайн займы займ срочно без отказов и проверок https://zp-pdl.com/get-quick-online-payday-loan-now.php https://www.zp-pdl.com займ на карту онлайн
