Rights activist wants investigator Dmitriyeva suspected of bribery to be questioned under Magnitsky case
Russian Interior Ministry investigator Nelly Dmitriyeva, who has been detained on suspicion of accepting a major bribe, should be questioned under an inquiry into Hermitage Capital auditor Sergei Magnitsky’s death, says Moscow Helsinki Group member Valery Borshchyov.
“I would like everyone included in the Cardin list and having relation to the Magnitsky case to be thoroughly questioned by the Investigative Committee, which is paying too little attention to these people today,” Borshchyov, who is participating in an independent public investigation into the Magnitsky case, told Interfax on Wednesday.
“The Investigative Committee should reconsider its position and deal not only with doctors and officials from the criminal correction system, whom they have questioned, but also investigators. No proper significance has been attached to this category of people related to the Magnitsky case, and this is alarming,” Borshchyov said.
The Investigative Committee suspects Dmitriyeva, a special investigator from the Interior Ministry Investigative Department for Moscow, of demanding a $3 million bribe from individuals figuring in a smuggling criminal case.
Dmitriyeva is included in the list compiled by U.S. Senator Benjamin Cardin, which comprises officials who Cardin believes are responsible for Magnitsky’s death in a pretrial detention facility.
Human rights activists have insisted repeatedly that the blame for Magnitsky’s death cannot be placed solely on doctors from the detention facility where he was held. unshaven girl unshaven girl https://zp-pdl.com/online-payday-loans-in-america.php https://zp-pdl.com/emergency-payday-loans.php займы без отказа
