Russia-focused funds have gathered a total of $1.22bn in the year to date, against outflows of $2bn for China and $980m for India in the same period, EPFR data show.

BP Made Faustian Deal With the Kremlin

CNBC

The recent deal between BP and the Russian oil and gas giant Rosneft was a Faustian pact that was forced on the London-listed major by the Kremlin, William Browder, a fund manager with Hermitage Capital, told CNBC Tuesday.

Obama, Russia, and Trust

American Thinker

For years now, those who would defend the neo-Soviet regime of Vladimir Putin have been telling us that, come hell or high water, it was impossible for Russia to go back to the bad old days of the USSR. We just needed to give Russia time, we were told, and we would see progress.

Throwing out Guardian newspaper journalist Luke Harding seems to have backfired as an attempt by the Kremlin to improve Russia’s image. Harding tried to fly back to Russia on Saturday from a trip abroad but had his visa cancelled at the airport.
